Where it's from
Here's something you
may not realize.
The number of family dairy farms is decreasing, not only in Kentucky, but throughout the nation. In the early 1980s, there were some 3,500 dairy farms in Kentucky. Today, that number is fewer than 800.
The "Udderly Kentucky" brand will add financial strength to the 105 dairy farms that currently provide milk to the processor, Prairie Farms. As the program grows, "Udderly Kentucky" will add stability to dairies statewide. That's why it's so important to buy "Udderly Kentucky."
Patrick Patterson of Long Cedar Dairy
"I'm thankful I have the opportunity to raise my kids on a dairy farm because they are going to learn that it takes dedication, determination, and that, even if things don't work the way you would expect them to, you still have to keep at it to accomplish the goals that you've set."
Tony Compton of Compton Dairy Farms
"Whatever you do, do it your best." Along with the hard work of milking and caring for 200 heifers comes a great sense of pride.
